The Clean Slate

Over the past week, my eating has been sort of dirty coupled with overfeeding; I went all out. Rice was the major culprit and I ate it in large quantity every single day. So I entered the weekend with constipation.

I am not new to constipation. Before I started my healthy living/ fitfam/ clean eating journey, it was a usual and uncomfortable occurence.
But with good food choices, constipation rarely occurs except when I go "dirty eating" again.

For me to get out of constipation mode, all I have to do is to reset to the "clean eating setting". What has worked for me so far are vegetables, fruits and I swap the rice for beans and reduce the quantity of all other carbs. I also make sure I do my meal prep for the week so I dont have to derail during the week.

Lemon/Olive oil based Vinaigrette

Smoked Chicken Bean Porridge
Most people complain of upset stomach when they eat beans but I have never experienced it. I like beans a lot and its filling with just a little quantity.

For smoothies, I am partial to pineapples, so its usually my base. For this smoothie, I had a mix of pineapples, mint, ginger and a hint of lime.

So I am set for the week with the help of my sous chef, Romeo and I hope to "de-constipate" as soon as possible.
